CD ACCOUNTS

A great way to set aside money for a specific goal. We offer a wide selection of CDs with various yields and maturities to fit your particular need.

Conventional CD

Our Conventional CD offers terms varying in length from 14 days to five years. You choose the one that best meets your investment goals. Interest rates may increase with the length of your term.

Smart Step CD

Worried that interest rates might go up after you’ve committed? This CD allows you to make additional deposits and retain the ability to increase your interest rate if it goes up during the term of the certificate.

Christmas CD

Saving up for Christmas? This short term CD can be started with as little as $20 and has a payout on Oct. 31. Automatically transfer money from one of your accounts into this CD, and watch your savings grow.

If you’ve been searching for relatively low-risk investment, consider a Certificate of Deposit (CD). Typically offering a higher rate of interest than a regular savings account, CDs feature federal deposit insurance up to $250,000. Additionally, interest rates on CDs are guaranteed until maturity and interest earned can be mailed to you by check, automatically deposited to your checking or savings account, or left to accumulate on the certificate.

For information on current product offerings and interest rates, we invite you to call us at 1.888.458.4291 for more details, or visit us in person at any of our branches.

CDARS

CDARS (Certificate of Deposit Account Registry Service) is the easiest and most convenient way to enjoy full FDIC insurance on deposits larger than $250,000.

  • Everything is handled through Denali State Bank. Your large deposit is broken into smaller amounts and placed with other banks that are members of this dedicated network. In turn, those participating banks issue CDs in amounts under $250,000 so that the entire investment qualifies for FDIC insurance.
  • You’ll earn one rate on the entire investment – thus eliminating the need for multiple rate negotiations and the need to consolidate multiple disbursement checks.

IRAs

IRAs are one of the safest ways to save for your retirement. We offer various IRA options to best meet your retirement goals.

Traditional IRA

If you are in a high tax bracket now, a Traditional IRA may be ideal for you since contributions are tax deductible. You are not taxed on your investment while the IRA grows. Contributions may not be tax-deductible for those covered by employment retirement plans with income over certain levels. In most cases, contributions cannot be withdrawn without IRS penalty until after the age of 59 1/2; however there are exceptions, such as for higher education expenses and first time home purchases.

Roth IRA

If enjoying your earnings tax-exempt appeals to you, a Roth IRA may be an ideal fit. Since contributions to a Roth IRA are made with after-tax dollars rather than pre-tax dollars, earnings are federal tax-free and IRS penalty-free if certain conditions are met. Unlike a Traditional IRA, contributions are allowed after the age of 70 1/2 if certain conditions are met. As with a Traditional IRA, your investment earnings from a Roth IRA aren’t taxed while your money grows, and if you’ve had the Roth IRA for at least five years you’ll pay no taxes on your investment earnings. The income limits for a Roth IRA are not determined by whether you’re covered by a retirement plan at work. Additionally, if your income is too high for a tax-deductible contribution to a Traditional IRA, you may consider a Roth IRA.
